Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify relationship between oral health belief and oral health behavior of middle-aged women.

Method: The data were collected from 110 individuals(middle-aged women) who were chosen by convenience sampling and agreed to participate in the study. The data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient using the SPSSipa.0 program.

Result: In oral health belief, the level of benefit, barrier was middle, and the level of susceptibility, seriousness was low. There was positive correlation between benefit in oral health belief and oral health behavior. And barrier and susceptibility in oral health belief and oral health behavior showed negative correlation.

Conclusion: These findings demonstrate a need for the development of oral health belief programs and the intervention of the programs that are effective in improving oral health behavior in middle-aged women.
